Candy Cane Sleigh
Candy cane sleighs are such simple little gifts. Who doesn’t love candy presented in such a cute way? When I stumbled onto these little cuties on Pinterest I knew I had to try them! I made a ton of them this year and everyone loved them. They go together very quickly too so you can make them for groups (like students or Girl Scouts).
What You’ll Need
Here’s a visual of exactly the right amounts of each type of candy and ribbons to make one sleigh. Of course you don’t have to use the same candies (anything rectangular will work), but these are easy to find and work out to be just the right sizes.
Other than that you’ll need scissors and a low temp hot glue gun.
Step 1 - Glue Your Candy Canes on to the Main Candy Bar
I’ve had several people ask me if hot glue was okay to use, but I found it to be great because it dries quickly. As long as you use the low temp setting and don’t use too much (just a dab will do ya!) it works great. And the candy is still edible when you disassemble these candy cane sleighs.
I found that holding the bar with one candy cane glued on it with my left hand while I applied glue with my right hand (I’m right-handed) worked great. That way I didn’t have to set the bar down and potentially dislodge the freshly glued first candy cane.
Now you’re ready to apply the miniatures.
Step 2 - Glue Your Small Candies to the Sleigh Base
Now you need to attach the four layers of smaller candies to the main sleigh base (i.e. the larger candy bar and candy canes). You’ll only need a tiny dot of glue on each corner of the smaller candy bars.

Step 3 - Tie Your Ribbon
Put ribbon on the top first.
Then flip the bar over and tie it in a loop.
Now flip it back over being careful not to move the ribbon off of the top mini candy bar.
And tie your final knot.
Step 4 - Glue on the Larger Bow
I like to curl the trailing ribbons before I attach the final larger bow.
And the finished product!! So cute huh?
